Conductix-Wampfler as been in the business of supplying components to the Wind Energy Market for decades. We began with slip rings assemblies to transfer data and energy to the blades for pitch control, deicing, and so forth. Then in 2000 we began working on a concept to replace cables in the tower with a rigid buss system. The result was "Tower Buss", and the first system was installed in a Vestas V47 and a Nordex system in 2003. Since 2006, we have been the exclusive buss supplier to Clipper Wind.
Wind Turbine Slip Rings
Conductix-Wampfler offers several styles of slip ring assemblies suitable for use in Wind Turbines. Our PCS Series pitch control slip ring features gold contacts for flawless energy/data transfer and very long life with very little maintenance. We also offer a direct replacement slip ring for the over 12,000 1.5 MW GE Turbines in service world wide.
