Accessories

Antennas

The use of radio communication in industrial environments is marked by different factors that affect the propagation of radio waves and influence their attenuation. In order to achieve a reliable radio link, we offer a broad range of antennas for radio remote controls, to adapt to each environment.

IR Cells

IR cells are additional infrared links for radio remote controls that can ensure that:

  1. the operator stays within the working area
  2. the right equipment has been selected

Harnesses

Harnesses and other carrying accessories are key for the operator to feel comfortable while controlling equipment with radio remote controls in potentially dangerous environments. Such comfort guarantees that the operator always has the radio remote control close. The weight of the radio remote control is also more evenly distributed, which leads to the ability to handle it more easily and for longer periods of time without fatigue.

FAQ

Does return information exist via LED lights?

No, there are no lights available. However, all the operating indications (radio link status, battery status, status of buttons, information feedback, etc.) are visible on the screen.

Are there Pika ATEX belly boxes without a screen?

No, the Pika ATEX series all have a screen. Depending on your project and safety requirements, our UD radio remote controls could be the right option.

What is the number of axes for one joystick?

There are two axes available for one joystick. X and Y axes can be used either separately or in combination.

How many joysticks are available on Pika ATEX?

On Pika ATEX, there is place for one or two joysticks. Moka ATEX series will provide up to three joysticks.

Pika ATEX belly boxes might also be fitted with no joystick, but with various switches (key selector switches, selector switches with 2 fixed positions, 2-position buttons with return to initial position, selector switches with 3 fixed positions, 3-position buttons with return to initial position, 3-position buttons with 2 fixed positions + 1 return to initial position, rotary selector switches with 4 to 12 positions, potentiometer).

How does one integrate the receiver into an electric cabinet?

The receiver can either be wall-mounted or fixed into the electrical cabinet. Pay attention to installing the antenna outside the cabinet for proper signal propagation.

Are stickers supplied with Pika ATEX radio remote controls?

Yes, several standard stickers are supplied as well as blank stickers for customizing. Some are to be stuck on mobile equipments, e.g a crane's beam, others to customize the transmitter itself.

What is the maximum range?

The range will vary according to the environment conditions, the position of the reception antenna, and the orientation of the transmitter (the range will be lower in the event of metal obstacles such as frameworks, partitions, enclosures, etc.).

  • 100 m in an industrial environment
  • 300 m in open space
  • 80 m – 300 m band 2.4 GHz in an industrial environment
  • 800 m – 2 Km band 2.4 GHz in open space

Who can configure the Pika ATEX belly boxes?

Pika ATEX can be configured using its free, accessible programing software, iDialog. Either our programming team can undertake the configuration, or the user themself.

How long do the batteries last?

Autonomy (25 °C) radio with activated 100% time: 10 hours.

Is it possible to have different colors for the front plate?

No, there are no different colors available – However, the front plate is customizable with symbols and languages.

Is the start-up with a badge possible?

No, start-up with a badge is not available, but to secure the usage of the belly box, the start-up can be protected with a pin code, a key, or a button combination.

Does a belly box wired solution exist?

If necessary, a 10 m cable for a wired link can be provided.

Is it possible to get video feedback?

The screen on Pika is dedicated to commands and feedback from sensors or a PLC. A live color video feedback would be a specific project to be discussed.

How many receivers can Pika ATEX radio remote controls control?

The Pika ATEX series can control up to 32 receivers. For safety reasons, it will address one receiver at a time. With the multimode management feature, this capability could be extended to more than 1000 receivers!
