Multi-boom face drill rigs (“boomers”), bolting machines (“bolters”), and shotcrete sprayers have this characteristic in common: they work long hours in the same position. During that time, they are powered through a low-voltage cable reel, and some of them require a water supply  from a hose reel.

Tunnel-boring machines are used to bore tunnels for metro, railways, highways, aqueducts, and wastewater. They are built especially for one project, and their main components are reused for future projects. These very powerful machines require High-Voltage power and operate on kilometric travel lengths. They also require water and slurries to be carried to the drilling head and mud to be removed.
