MAG Drive Motor-Driven Reels

Conductix-Wampfler W motor-driven reels are recognized worldwide as very reliable in harsh environments where maintenance is difficult and other systems suffer a lot.

At the heart of a W motor-driven reel is a carefully manufactured HMK MAG Coupler: its inner parts’ finely engineered magnetic properties interact to output a controlled torque over a wide speed range. As the MAG coupler is part of the mechanical drive chain, it instantly and permanently reacts to cable pull variations. Even if the power is off, our MAG Coupler maintains the tuned output torque.

Conductix-Wampfler W range uses our proven and super-reliable reeling slip rings.

Our W range is modular and deeply configurable. This brings you all the advantages of modern, high-volume and lean serial industrial manufacturing: very high quality and reliability at reasonable cost.

We use rules-based computerized design systems to offer the configured reel best adapted to your application, plus a customizing touch from our experts if desired.

W reels are pre-tuned to the application in our factories and therefore require no expert commissioning.

Would a spring reel do the same job?

If well calculated, a spring reel could do the same job as a W reel, at the expense of a much higher weight and a shorter number of cycles during its lifetime. For applications with high utilization, W reels are recommended over spring reels.
