Inductive Power Transfer Floor

Generally the basic function of Floor systems is the same as that of other Inductive Power Transfer systems. But there are some additional or specific aspects to consider.

Inductive Power Transfer "Floor" - Systems layout

The cable loop must be installed in a way that complete coverage of the supply of vehicles along the entire travelling path is given. This way installed the cable routing also defines the travelling path of vehicles. With inductive track guidance it is possible to detect the magnetic field around the cabling and to supply a guidance signal to the vehicle control and to control so the movement of the vehicle. Unwanted and expensive guidance slots become obsolete this way. Various travelling paths can be defined. Switches, crossings, etc. are no problem. The pickup just needs to be placed so that it is exposed to the magnetic field in a sufficient way.

Track Supplies for Floor Systems

Additional information

Track Supplies do convert mains voltages of usually 50 or 60 Hz into a higher frequent output voltage.

Usually inductive power transfer systems run at 20kHz. Only with this higher frequency of the output voltage and so the alternating magnetic field around the track cable an efficient non-contact power transfer becomes possible. Depending on the Regulators used on the secondary side track currents of 80 or 125 A are used.

Product data

Depending on the Track Supply design it is possible to adapt it to national mains voltages and to have different input and output signals, user interfaces, colours, etc..

Typical* Track Supplies:

Description** Nom. Power**
6 kW Track Supply Module 125 A 6 kW
16 kW Track Supply Module 125 A 16 kW
35 kW Track Supply Cabinet 125 A 35 kW

F-Pickups with integrated Regulator

Additional information

Typical applications for F-Pickups are those, where obstacles on the floor are not allowed, i.e. at Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) lines.

Product data

Pickup and Regulator do form an integrated unit. Already at the output of the Pickup the required output voltages are present. The vehicle integration of multiple boxes and the cable routing in between them is not necessary.

Typical* Sizes of F-Pickups with integrated Regulators:

Description** Nom. Power** Output Voltage**
750 W F-Pickup 750 W 560 V DC
2,5 kW F-Pickup 2,5 kW 560 V DC
